Overview
The White Elastomeric Coating material is durable, flexible, 90% solar reflective, and made from only 100% pure acrylic resin from Rohm and Haas formulation. These characteristics make it an outstanding solution for almost all roof types and building functions. Air-conditioning costs are lowered by 15-50% (avg. 20%) depending on the total airspace under the roof, the air temperature, and solar exposure. Building movement is drastically reduced, putting little to no pressure on the roof seam transitions or the roof coating system itself. For non-AC buildings, workers enjoy a much cooler environment. This coating is uniformly spray-applied to attain a seamless surface overtop of the Waterproof System. The standard application requires two coats and requires warmer temperatures (above 50° air) to cure properly. For a less expensive alternative, check out the Aluminum Coating System.
Benefits Include:
- 10- Year Leak-Proof Warranty, 10-Year Material Warranty, 15-Year Durability
- Best for Air-conditioned buildings, such as Shopping Centers and Commercial Sites
- 90% Solar-reflective, reducing AC costs by 15-50% and building movement by 70%
FAQ
How is the White Elastomeric Coating System applied?
To achieve the standard 15-year system, the White Elasomeric Coating (water-based) must be applied in a two-coat process. The first coat goes on and is left overnight to cure (90% cured) enough to put on the second coat the next day. Both coats are spray-applied to achieve a uniform coat and ensure that the coating wears evenly over its life.
What are the possible risks during application of the White Elastomeric Coating?
Air temperature must exceed 50 degrees to spray and properly adhere and cure this product to the roof to prevent the water in the coating from freezing. As with any spraying, wind can drive coating materials over the edge of the roof. Not only are we fully covered on all insurance issues, but our water-based White Elastomeric comes off easily with a rag and water. Unexpected rain can cause delays and significant material loss (because of it’s water base). We take careful measures in assessing the weather forecast. All costs associated with material loss are covered by CPR.
Is this a water-based or oil-based (mineral spirits) product?
Primarily, we use the water-based White Elastomeric, but we use oil-based (mineral spirits) Elastomeric in unique circumstances. (see Materials and Suppliers)
